Abortion

S. 4467—Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN)/Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
(6/23/22)—A bill to preserve access to abortion medications.

S. 4469—Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ)/Commerce, Science, and
Transportation (6/23/22)—A bill to direct the Federal Trade Commission
to prescribe rules prohibiting disinformation in the advertising of
abortion services, and for other purposes.

S. 4474—Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)/Health, Education, Labor, and
Pensions (6/23/22)—A bill to prohibit the declaration of a federal
emergency relating to abortion.

H.R. 8196—Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)/Judiciary (6/23/22)—A
bill to deem certain conduct of members of the groups “Jane’s Revenge”
and “Ruth Sent Us” as domestic terrorism, and for other purposes.

H.R. 8210—Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY)/Energy and Commerce
(6/23/22)—A bill to direct the Federal Trade Commission to prescribe

S. Res. 691—Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA)/Health, Education, Labor, and
Pensions (6/23/22)—A resolution affirming, commemorating, and
celebrating the 50th anniversary of the enactment of title IX,
applauding the increase in educational opportunities available to all
individuals, regardless of sex or gender, and recognizing the tremendous
amount of work left to be done to further increase those opportunities.

S. Res. 692—Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)/Health, Education, Labor, and
Pensions (6/23/22)—A resolution recognizing and celebrating the 50th
anniversary of the enactment of title IX of the Education Amendments of
1972 into law.

H. Res. 1202—Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI)/Education and Labor
(6/23/22)—A resolution affirming, commemorating, and celebrating the
50th anniversary of the enactment of title IX, applauding the increase
in educational opportunities available to all individuals, regardless of
sex or gender, and recognizing the tremendous amount of work left to be
done to further increase those opportunities.

Employment

H.R. 8227—Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL)/Judiciary (6/24/22)—A bill to
limit the judicial enforceability of predispute nondisclosure and
nondisparagement contract clauses relating to disputes involving sexual
assault and sexual harassment.

S. 4438—Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL)/Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry
(6/21/22)—A bill to modify work requirements under the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) of the Food and Nutrition Act of
2008, and for other purposes.

H.R. 8193—Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX)/Ways and Means; Foreign Affairs
(6/22/22)—A bill to require the secretary of State to revoke any
United States passport issued to an individual, on receipt of a
certification by the secretary of Health and Human Services that the
individual has a child support arrearage exceeding $2,500.

S. 4440—Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)/Health, Education, Labor, and
Pensions (6/22/22)—A bill to reauthorize and improve the National
Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program of the Public Health
Service Act for fiscal years 2023 through 2027, and for other purposes.

H.R. 8172—Rep. Donald S. Beyer, Jr. (D-VA)/Energy and Commerce
(6/22/22)—A bill to improve the quality, appropriateness, and
effectiveness of diagnosis in health care, and for other purposes. This
bill seeks to reduce medical diagnostic errors disproportionately
impacting certain groups, including women of color.

H.R. 8185—Rep. Joseph D. Morelle (D-NY)/Energy and Commerce
(6/22/22)—A bill to reauthorize and improve the National Breast and
Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program of the Public Health Service Act
for fiscal years 2023 through 2027, and for other purposes.

issue guidance on coverage under the Medicaid program of certain pelvic
health services furnished during the postpartum period, and for other
purposes.

Tax Policy

H.R. 8174—Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR)/Ways and Means (6/22/22)—A
bill to provide for the temporary duty-free importation of certain
infant formula products, and for other purposes.

H.R. 8190—Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA)/Ways and Means (6/22/22)—A bill to
treat certain assisted reproduction expenses as medical expenses of the
taxpayer.

Veterans

S. 4441—Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV)/Veterans’ Affairs
(6/22/22)—A bill to direct the secretary of Veterans Affairs to
provide for peer support specialists for claimants who are survivors of
military sexual trauma, and for other purposes.

Violence Against Women

S. 4462—Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV)/Judiciary (6/23/22)—A
bill to establish a pilot program within the Office on Violence Against
Women of the Department of Justice relating to advocacy for domestic
violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking victims, and for
other purposes.

This Week: June 27-July 1, 2022

Floor Action:

The Senate is in recess until July 11.

The House is in a committee work period this week with no scheduled
floor votes.

Mark-Ups:

Appropriations- On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Committee will
mark up the FY2023 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies
spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered). This bill includes funding for
programs to combat human trafficking and violence against women and
girls.

On Wednesday, the House Appropriations Committee will mark up the
FY2023 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs spending bill and
the FY2023 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies spending bill
(both as-yet-unnumbered). The State, Foreign Operations, and Related
Programs spending bill provides funding for several international
assistance programs supporting women and girls. The Interior,
Environment, and Related Agencies spending bill includes funding for the
Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum.

On Thursday, the House Appropriations Committee will mark up the FY2023
Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Related
Agencies spending bill, and the FY2023 Labor, Health and Human Services,
Education, and Related Agencies spending bill (both as-yet-unnumbered).
The Transportation, HUD and Related Agencies spending bill would provide
funding for housing programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual
assault and to support affordable housing for women with dependents.
