Everyone deserves a new start in life. Reasons differ from person to person, but the following principles are a guideline to give your life a NEW START for a healthier lifestyle.
Nutrition
Proper nutrition is the foundation of good health. It will be healthy to familiarize yourself with the food chart.
Health nutrition from food you eat and drink is your health and strength. What you eat is part of what you are and what you will become. What you choose for a meal has an impact on your body either positively or negatively. The quality of food you ingest affects the length and quality of your life.
Exercise
Muscle tone and strength are lost without exertion, so exercise improves the health of the body, mind, and spirit, multiplying vitality and health. Exercise therapy is a good way to improve your mood.
Water
Because the body is about 60 to 70 percent water, keeping well hydrated and what and when to drink are extremely important to good health. Just a small percentage drop in our body’s water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: I have experienced fuzzy short-term memory, trouble doing basic math, remembering doctor appointments, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue.
Sunlight
Sunlight is surprisingly important for the body’s metabolism and hormonal balance. Apart from sunlight maintaining temperature and humidity, it plays an essential role in nourishing and energizing the human body. It is also vital in order to get the full nutritional value from food that you consume.
Temperance
Using good things moderately and avoiding the bad is obviously wise, yet hard to practice. You may ask, temperance, what is it? Why do we need to know about it? Is it really necessary?
Temperance is self-control or moderation in the things good for our health, and abstinence is avoidance of the things that are harmful. We need temperance in food, water, exercise, sunlight, and even sleep. This means that we have to avoid excess even when it’s something good.
Air
The body’s most essential resource is air. More important than food or water, proper breathing and pure air are fundamental to good health. Fresh air refreshes the cells, lowers body temperature, and improves the sense of well-being.
Rest
Restoration requires rest because sleep allows the body to renew itself. Many types of rest are important to health, but the sweetest rest follows labor. This is a vital principle to the NEW START principle, and a healthy lifestyle makes this principle easier to maintain. The bigger concern is chronic sleep loss, which can contribute to health problems such as weight gain, high blood pressure, and a decrease in the immune system’s power.
Trust in Divine Power
Directly linked to physical health, trust in Divine Power is a gift leading to make the right choices in life. Trust in Divine Power ensues that your life has a sense of purpose. It speaks to the important relationship between spirituality and your overall health and well being. Our faith, beliefs, and hopes all affect our health. Proverbs 3:5, 6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
