Hello Representatives of the National Association of American Veterans,
We wanted to thank you very much for sending a representative this past Tuesday, December 11th, to come and speak at our Combined Federal Campaign event, highlighting the cause of the week: Veterans. It was a fantastic opportunity for EPA employees to meet and speak with charities that are helping provide invaluable assistance to service members, veterans, and their dependents, and to learn about what we can all do to further support the cause. At the event, we had card-making stations where people made holiday cards for service members that are serving overseas and cannot be home for the holidays (a big thank you to NAAV as well for offering to personally deliver these cards).
At the event, people were also able to enjoy hot cocoa and delicious hand-made cookies as they made their cards and voted for their favorite cookies in a cookie contest that included the categories: Best Tasting and Best Decorated. We are proud to announce that at the end of the event, EPA employees had made a total of 78 cards for our brave service members in the military. We hope that this small token of our appreciation will further highlight how much we at EPA care about and support our troops and we would like to thank NAAV once again for helping us make this a truly successful event.
