Mysteries of God and the Triune Godhead

The central message conveyed to humanity in the Old and New Testament of the Holy Bible is that there is only one God. However, how He exist, and His nature is very complex to many who believe and understand the existence of God. There are many different views as to the nature of the Godhead. One view by believers in one God asserts that there are three distinct persons in the Godhead – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – but one God.

God is one essence not three persons or three parts. God cannot be divided into parts. The doctrine of the Trinity recognizes one God who exists in three distinct operations, natures, or personalities. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are personal characteristics with the nature of God. When God speaks, He speaks as “I”, as one person. When we pray to God, we pray to Him as “you” in singular form not plural. God is a single personal being. The concept of the Trinity, while not explicitly named in the Holy Bible, is a fundamental doctrine in many Christian denominations. It describes the nature of God as three-in-one: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:4-6 tells us, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

The New Testament does not use the word, Trinity. A majority of the Jews are not Christians because God in three persons “Trinity” contradicts their core belief “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One!” (Deuteronomy 6:4) NKJV. Still most Christian Bible experts, say the idea is there.

. Baptize in three names. “Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). However, the word “name” should be “names” if it is three persons.

. Jesus and God are one. “Father and I are one.” (John 10:30). This mean that there is only one God in the person of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior … God became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1, 14). Here it is difficult to explain or comprehend how there can be only one God and that how Jesus and God are one.

. God’s Spirit empowers people. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes in you” (Acts 1:8). The gospel of John made statements about Jesus godlike miracles to back this Scripture verse. The Godhead is very complex and distinct in the way each operates. A majority of our Christian scholars do not understand the mystery of how this can be, or what causes it.

But we must trust the evidence of the truth that God our Lord and Savior has given us through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Relationship Between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

The relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is a key aspect of the Trinity. John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” In John 14:9-11, Jesus explains that He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him.”

Role of God in the Trinity Godhead

Each function of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit has distinct operations; however, they function or work together in unity. For example, in John 14:16-17, Jesus ask the Father to send another advocate, the Spirit of truth, to be with His followers.

Early Christians believed in the unity of God and existence of one God. Jesus claimed a position equal to the Father. (“If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.” “I and My Father are One.”) The only reasonable conclusion to make is that the Father, Sone, and the Holy Spirit are the One God – the doctrine of the Trinity concerning the nature of God.

Meanwhile, another group that believe in one God, but further believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are manifestations, offices, or relationships that the one God has displayed to humankind. Today, those who believe in the oneness of God and the full deity of the Messiah as Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior used the term “oneness” to describe their belief and in Jesus as Son of God and God in the flesh. (John 1, 14; 6:27-40; 46-48; 51, 65, 68, 69)

God’s Tribune Nature

The doctrine of one God is found in Deuteronomy 6:4: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” This Scripture verse is the Jews statement of Faith. “God is one” (Galatians 3:20) and “God is Spirit” and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24). A very true fact is that our minds cannot understand or comprehend all there is to know about God and the Holy Bible gives over two hundred characteristics and attributes that God possesses.

John 4:27 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” God is invisible unless He wants to manifest Himself in a form visible to humans. “No man has seen God at anytime (John 1:18: 1 John 4:12), “And no human can see God” (Timothy 6:16). God has revealed His nature to humans through visible manifestations. Meanwhile, even though we cannot fully comprehend God and the triune Godhead, God uses methods to reveal Himself to us and one is through using different names and titles. (Exodus 6:3-8; Isaiah 42:8). The concept “I AM that I AM” and “I AM,” used by God Himself.

When the fullness of time dame, God satisfy His people and revealed Himself in all His power and glory through the name of Jesus. Jesus means Jehovah-Savior, Jehovah our Salvation, or Jehovah is Salvation. “And she shall bring forth a Son and shall call His name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). These Scripture verses suggest that God is one in essence (nature) but exists in three functions or titles: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God

Jesus is God is firmly established in the Holy Bible and the fact that God is one. The Holy Bible proclaims that Jesus is 100% God and 100% Man. Isaiah 9:6 proclaims Jesus is God saying, “For unto to us a child is born, unto to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” The terms child and son refer to the incarnation, or the manifestation of “The Mighty God” and “The Everlasting Father.” The New Testament also proclaims that Jesus is God. Thomas proclaimed, “Jesus as both Lord and God” (John 20:28). Acts 20:28 tells us, “The church was purchased with God’s own blood, the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross. Paul described Jesus Christ as “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).

God and the Triune Godhead

What does God say about Himself and the Triune Godhead three in one? Who is God the Son and God the Holy Spirit? The concept of the Trinity or Triune Godhead in Christian Theology is often understood as God being three persons (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) in one Godhead. The Trinity according to Christian doctrine says these are not separate gods, but one God in three persons and that each person of the Trinity is distinct yet equal and co-eternal, meaning none were created or are inferior to the other. Meanwhile, it is important to note that the term “person” in this context does not mean a human individual, but rather refers to the different relational aspects of God’s nature.

The concept of God’s nature or attributes refers to the characteristics or qualities that define God. These include attributes such as omniscience (all-knowing), omnipotence (all-powerful), omnipresence (present everywhere), holiness, righteousness, love, mercy, grace, peace, and others. Here are some Scripture verses from the New James Version (NKJV) of the Holy Bible that discuss the concept known as the Holy Trinity. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the life of men. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1-4,14).

“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one” (1 John 5:7-8).

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). Note: The word name used here is singular and not plural.

“I and My Father are one” (John 10:30).

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14).

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:9).

“Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, (on the cross) which I shall give for the life of the world. Therefore, I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” But Simon Peter said, “Lord, to who shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God” (John 6:46-47,48,51,65,68,69).

“Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here and put it into My said. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’ And Thomas answered and said to Him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ “Jesus said to him, ‘Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’” (John 20:27-29).

These Scripture verses highlight the concept of the Trinity, the unity of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit as three expressions of one divine essence. It is a theological concept and interpretations that can vary among different Christian denominations and individuals. For a deeper understanding, you may pray to the Lord God for wisdom and understanding and consult a Bible believing born again of the water and the Spirit servant of God. The concept of the three natures of God within the Godhead, often referred to as the Holy Trinity, is a central doctrine in many Christian denominations. Here is their brief explanation:

  1. God the Father: The Father is recognized as the first person and the source of all things. He is the creator, sustainer, and ruler of all. The Father is also known for His divine attributes like love, mercy, and justice.
  2. God the Son (Jesus Christ): The Son is the second person, who became man in the incarnation and redeemed humanity by His death and resurrection. Through the incarnation, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took on human flesh and lived among us showing us how to live a life pleasing to God.
  3. God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person and is essential on the life and Mission of the Church.

These three persons are according to different Christian denominations are co-eternal, co-equal, and co-existent in attributes, power, nature, and glory. The eternal relationship within the Trinity exemplifies live in its purest form, as the three persons in the Godhead direct love towards each other for all eternity.

The doctrine of the Trinity does not mean there are three different gods or three separate gods. God is one essence, one substance. He is not made of three separate parts. Neither is God three separate individuals. There is only one God, but He chose to operate in three positions that are equal in substance and oneness. The Holy Bible teaches that the nature of God is that He is a trinity that is very complex for human understanding.

This concept is very complex, and interpretations can vary among different Christian denominations and individuals. For a deeper understanding, you want to pray to your heavenly Father for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. It is also important to note that the term “person” in this context does not mean a human individual, but rather refers to the different relational aspects of God’s nature. The concept of God’s nature or attributes are omniscience (all-knowing), omnipotence (all-powerful), omnipresence (present everywhere), holiness, righteousness, love, mercy, and others to name a few.

The Trinity is distinct and all three in the Godhead are all of one essence – meaning they are each fully God. So, Jesus (God the Son) is God, but He is not God the Father or God the Holy Spirit. Each operation within the Trinity has roles or relationships that distinguish them from each other, and not as human beings function as most seem to think. It is again important to note that the term “person” in this context does not mean a human individual, but rather refers to the different relational aspects of God’s nature.

Summary and Conclusion of God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

The concept of the Trinity in the Godhead is a profound and central aspect of Christian theology. It underscores the very complex and mysterious nature of God as revealed in the Scripture. Studying about the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit may seem like a deep and complicated subject. Not everyone is going to agree. This discussion seemed to have become more of a subject after the original twelve disciples and the Apostle Paul. Research shows that the term Trinity became widely used after a man named Tertullian introduced it at a Christian council to stop anyone who was challenging the divinity of JESUS. Some were teaching that Jesus was not God and the accepted Christian teachers chose this meeting to officially declare that the Church would make it clear that Jesus is God. It appears that the major problem that has resulted from the Trinity is not about Jesus being God, but rather is God in three persons. I am beginning to see those who believe that the Trinity is wrong believe that dividing God into three persons is like trying to divide someone’s spirit, soul, and body. I do not believe that Trinitarians are saying that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit each make up one-third of God. It appears that explaining that the one God is in three persons has complicated things and it seems as though they are saying three God’s when they only mean one. If the Holy Bible does not say “God in three persons” then the question is where this understanding come from and why do, we have to say what it appears the Holy Bible does not clearly say.

Meanwhile, from studying the Old and New Testaments the past ten years and seeking God’s wisdom, knowledge and understanding including consulting mentors in this area I have discovered that you will receive a revelation with which you will be satisfied with one that pleases you about the mysteries of the Trinity and the Godhead. Most Christian ministers agree on what they believe about God. Remember, God does not want our views as Christians to divide us to the delight of the enemy.

We must remember that the Trinity and the Godhead is not a new topic, and it will not be resolved today; however, 2 Timothy 1:13-15 says, “Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Those good things, which was committed to you, is kept by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. But you must continue with the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation though faith which is in Christ Jesus.” “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is important that we keep an open mind and separate opinions from the Scripture. By doing this we can keep a difference between what people say and accept what God says to us through the Scripture.

Who is Jesus?

“He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born over-all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist of. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:25-20).

“Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth” (Revelation 1:4-5).

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” (Revelation 1:18).

Who is Jesus? (Continued)

The Lord Jesus Christ (God the Son and God in the Flesh) said “I AM” during His time on earth. The title “ I AM” speaks of God’s self-existence and eternal being. God is the same throughout the ages. God is Jehovah, Yahweh, I AM which is beyond our comprehension, for God is infinite. We were created by God who has no beginning and no ending. Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). It is God who said to Moses who wanted to identify God to the Hebrews slaves. God’s answer was  “I AM who  I AM” (Exodus 3:14).

Mediate on the seven “I AM” statements of the Lord Jesus Christ regarding who He said He was. They are as follows:

.  I AM the Bread of Life. And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).

.  The LORD said to Abram, “I am your shield, your exceeding great reward” (Genesis 15:1).

.  I AM the Light of the World. “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life” (John 8:12).

.  I AM the Door. “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:7,9).

.  I AM the Good Shepherd. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know My sheep, and I am known by My own” (John 10:11,14).

.  I AM the Resurrection and the Life. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).

.  I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

. I AM the True Vine. “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:1,5).

Who is God?

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God and was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of

men. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1-4, 14).

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:3).

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God” (Romans 13:1-2).

“He who does not love does not know God, for god is love.” No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He as given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:8, 12-16).

Who is God the Holy Spirit?

All of God is His person, character, abilities especially in reference to the Trinity. Prayer is conversation with God in which we express praise, thanks, needs, and concerns.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).

“But you shall receive power then the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’” (Acts 2:38).

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).

Summary of God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, and these are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39). In Genesis 1:26, God said “Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness” … The words “us” and “our” implies more that one. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him. God is an “us” and a “He” at the same time. Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” In Genesis 1:2, “… and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”…God is a plurality of one. John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” This Scripture verse tells us more about who the “us”

Summary of God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Continued)

  1. Word with God sounds like two; however, Word was God is one. Deuteronomy 6:4 says, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!” Always remember that God is one God, one Spirit and one Lord.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 says, “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences in ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.” The one God is more than one in how He exists. John 1:14 says, “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” If the Word was God, then God was the Word. If the Word was made flesh, then God was made flesh. 1 Timothy 3:16 says, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preaches among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.”

We understand that this flesh was spoken of in Isaiah 7:14 and fulfilled in Matthew 1:23. This child’s name shall be called Mighty God … (Isaiah 9:6). The name Immanuel means God with us. Matthew 1:21 says, “You shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.” The name Jesus means Jehovah or God saves or is Savior. Luke 1:32 says, “the Son of the Highest” and like Luke 1:35 says, “the Son of God.” Psalm 83:18 says, “That they know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.” The name JEHOVAH was considered so Holy that for fear of using the name in vain, another name was used for GOD that was translated to “LORD.”

Isaiah 43:10-15 and 45:5-7, 18, 21-23 says, “God emphasizes who He is, what He has done and what He can do. Exodus 6:3 says, “declares who God is and in Exodus 3:13-14 says, “God declares that He is “I AM.” Jesus in John 6:48, 51 said, “I am the bread of life. I am the living bread. This is the bread which came down from heaven.” John 12:46, 14:6 and 15:1, 2, 5 tells us more about who “I AM” is. “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.” “Jesus said to Him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”  “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” By God operating as three, He can accomplish His will in very unique ways. God is always God, but this is what He chose to do.

1 John 5:7 says, “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” It does not say that the three are persons. In Colossians 2:9-10 says, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Jesus is the embodiment

Summary of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Continued)

of the fullness of the Godhead bodily and that we are complete in Jesus. God is one God who is the Father on the throne, the Son on the cross and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that has filled us, leads, teaches, and guides us with wisdom and power.

Even though God is one, we could say He has chosen to operate as three. (1 Corinthians 12:6). The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are diverse operations of the one God. By God operating as three, He can accomplish His will in unique ways. God is always God but chose to operate this way. When the Word, which is God was manifest in the flesh, the glory that the Word came in was not the Glory of God but the Glory of the only begotten of the Father. (John 1:1) and (John 1:14). Begotten means that which begins within and is brought forth by birth. That is why the Scriptures emphasize “only begotten son.” In John 3:16, He is “son of man” because He was born of a woman says (Luke 2:7) and that makes Him Mary’s “son” but more important He is the Son of God says, (Mark 1:1).

As the Son of God, you may say this is God Himself coming to earth as His own Son saying, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16). This is God operating as His own Son, but because He is humbling Himself being found in fashion as a man says, (Philippians 2:6-8). The Word manifest means to appear as or a way of showing oneself. When they saw Jesus, they were looking at God as a man. Most of the people did not know it. God was operating as His own Son. Though He was God, He did not come as God. By operating on earth as Son, He could be Mary’s firstborn son. Mary could never have given birth to God because God has no Mother.

God’s plan was to come to earth as His own Son and allow Mary to give birth to the Son of God. (Luke 1:35). As the Son of God, He could die. The Son died, not the Father and not the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:8). Even though Jesus is called the Son of God, it is interesting that was not the Father overshadowing Mary causing her to conceive but the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:20). It is incorrect and not Scripture to say, “Hail Mary Mother of God.” No one could ever give birth to God because He is the Creator of all things, and He has no father or mother. The operation of the Father differs from the Son as well as the operation differs from the Holy Spirit. This allows the Son to talk to the Father in prayer in (John 11:41-42 and 17:1-26). The Son could refer to the Father with words such as “we”, “our,” and “both” (John 14:23 and 15:26).

So, as we can be a father or mother, brother, or sister, son or daughter and cousin all at the same time even though there is only one of us, then it should not be difficult to see that God can do the same and more. God is a Spirit. He can operate differently at the same time and

Summary of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Continued)

we cannot. God can be and do different things at the same time and all in various places at the same time. He is GOD. (Luke 1:37). God’s Word is truth. Proverbs 30:5 tells us, “Every word of God proves true.” This is similar to Psalm 18:30: “The word of the LORD proves true.” Psalm 33:4 states, “The word of the Lord is upright.” In conclusion, we may say God’s Word is true, for everything God says is true. Therefore, God’s Word about the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is true. “I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right” (Isaiah 45:19).

So, what can we say about the mysteries of the Godhead? First, there is only one invisible God with mysterious functions in His nature of operation regarding how He chose to reveal Himself to humankind. Second, Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% Man and is the fullness of the Godhead incarnate. He is God the Father – the Jehovah of the Old Testament – who came to earth in human form. God was manifested in Jesus Christ and came to the earth in human form. God was manifested is Jesus Christ and came to the earth to supply all of our needs. Again, Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, the only God in heaven who offers us the gift of Salvation and eternal life. To truly understand the mysteries of the Godhead, you must allow the LORD God to continually speak to you through the Holy Spirit and His Holy Scriptures.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today seeking wisdom and understanding about Your true nature. We know that You are a triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – yet this concept is beyond our human comprehension. As it is written in Proverbs 2:6, “For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” We ask that You open our hearts and minds to the truth of Your Word. Help us to understand the mystery of the Trinity, that while You are one God, You exist in three operations within the Godhead. May we come to know you more fully as our Father, experience Your love through Your Son Jesus Christ, and feel Your presence through the Holy Spirit.

There is only one God. This doctrine is the central message in the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Lord, we know that within those claiming to be Christians there are several views as to the nature of the Godhead. The view called the trinitarianism believe that there are three distinct persons in the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – but one God. Another view, called monotheists believe in one God, but further believe that the fullness of the Godhead is manifested in Jesus Christ – that the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are offices or relationships that the one God has displayed to humans.

The doctrine of one God is found in Deuteronomy 6:4: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” This Scripture verse is the most important statement of faith for the Jewish people. Guide us on our journey of faith and help us to grow in our understanding of Your infinite love and majesty. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

May this prayer guide you in your quest for understanding the nature of God. Remember, God is always with you. God bless you. Amen.

Scripture verses are taken from the New King James Version of the Holy Bible.
