Moments of Meditation
The Bible contains many verses about how to obtain a new life in Christ. The Bible says all of humanity have turned away from the LORD God as well as broken the law of God. The Bible says this is sin. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Salvation means to be rescued from sin and its punishment and set free to know, love and serve the LORD our God in spirit and truth. The punishment for sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We cannot save ourselves; therefore, there is no escape and the Lord our God requires our eternal damnation in hell and the eternal lake of fire and brimstone. However, whoever believes in the Son of God has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son of God will not see life, but God’s wrath will remain on him. (John 3:36)
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:34, 36) Admitting that our sins have put us in a bad situation is the first step to repentance. (1John 1:8, 9) Accepting the gift of salvation from the Lord Jesus’ payment for our sins makes one not guilty in God’s sight. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Only the Lord Jesus Christ has provided the way to salvation. For acts 4:12 says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Now is the time to make your decision. Tomorrow maybe too late. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Scripture Verses for Meditation
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; … (Romans 3:23)
“Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it.” (Romans 6:2)
“Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:3-4)
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has mad3 me free from the law in sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
“For the wages of sin is death … (Romans 6:23a) … but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“For whoever calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be confirmed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)
“The Lord Jesus Christ said “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffered and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” (Luke 24:46-49)
“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.’” (Acts 2:38-39)
If you are ready to accept this gift, pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You are the holy and only Son of God. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You rose from the dead. I believe You are my salvation. Please wash all my sins away through water baptism in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and fill me with Your Spirit and make me a child of God. I give my life to you today in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
“Jesus said except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the word to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:3, 5, 16-17) KJV
“You must deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the Great God and our Savior Jesus Christ …” (Titus 2:12, 13) To be ready for the Lord’s return you must be born again and brought into the Lord’s household. If you are born again by the Holy Spirit of God, you can take comfort in knowing that the Lord will return for you at the time of the rapture.
Your daily walk with the Lord should include reading your Bible every day; talking to God in prayer daily and finding a church where the Bible is taught as the Word of God. Life is short, but eternity is forever!! “Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” (Revelation 22:12-14, 21)
