Our Lord Jesus Christ Speaks: Part III

There is a message to learn from Our Lord Jesus Christ Speaks about worship, marriage, the commandments, His sheep, wealth, and the Word of God. We pray that these Scripture verses will give you comfort and hope as you reflect upon the words and promises of God.

About Worship

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4: 23, 24)

About Marriage

“But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Mark 10:6-9)

About the Commandments

“Jesus said, to him, you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

About His Sheep

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)

About His Sheep

“Then Jesus said to them again, most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:7-9)

About Wealth

Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!” It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:23-25)

So, when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” (Luke 18:22)

“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24)

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

About the Word of God

“And He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)

But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” (Luke 8:21)

Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.” (Mark 12:24-25)

About the Word of God

“But He said, “More that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

(Luke 11:28)

About Pride

“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Matthew 23:11-12)

“Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me; and whoever Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.” (Luke 9:48)

And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” (Luke 16:15)

About Repentance

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “These who are well have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

(Mark 2:17)

“There is joy in the presence of the angles of God over one sinner who repents.”

(Luke 15:10)

“I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)

About Evangelism

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

(Mark 16:15-16)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, give me wisdom and perspective. Lord, guide me according to Your will for my life and according to Your purpose. Thank You for Your amazing love, joy,

and peace. Give me courage, Lord, to claim the spiritual riches that You have promised in

Your Word. Keep me ever mindful that Your truth is and will forever be the ultimate truth. Lord God, I cry out to You now during these times of great challenges and hardships to help us to be more aware of our lack of faith and trust in our lives. Father, help us where we are weak and teach us to fast and pray. Help us to depend on You every day for our daily needs. Help us to seek You and Your kingdom with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength daily. Father, we know that You care and love us and will answer us according to Your perfect will about all things. In the Lord Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
