On Friday, October 1, 2021, the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV) donated four (4) pair of new boots for homeless male and female Veterans residing in Washington, D.C. metropolitan area in support of the Winter Haven/Stand Down scheduled for November 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C. All items donated will be given to the VAMC and given to homeless male and female Veterans and/or taken to the transitional housing programs, the shelters, and hotels that Veterans are residing or receiving temporarily housing. In addition, donated will be delivered to Veterans who may be on the street and in HUD/VASH programs. The VAMC is scheduled to deliver donated items on Saturday, November 6, 2021, and delivered during the month of November.
In advance of this annual event, that started on Monday, September 6, 2021, through Friday, November 5, 2021, Accessing Housing, Inc. (Southeast Veterans Service Center) will partner with National Football League – Retired Players Association (NFL-RPA) Washington, DC Chapter, Technology, Inc. (of Fairfax, VA), the Washington, DC VAMC, and other local and federal partners, such the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV), to “Kick Off” the 11th Annual “Walk In Their Foot Steps” new boots and shoes collection for homeless male and female Veterans in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak that has affected everyone nationwide, the need to assist male and female homeless Veterans and their families has increased around this nation. Your continued support will go a long way to assist homeless Veterans, Veterans at-risk of homelessness, and Veterans transitioning from homelessness to stable housing.
