2018 Military Sexual Trauma Summit Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center

 

The 2018 Military Sexual Trauma Summit will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 50 Irving Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20422. This year’s theme is “We Are Stronger…Together. Accountability, Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment.” Military Sexual Trauma (MST) is defined by Title 38 U.S. code 172D as “psychological trauma resulting from a physical assault of a sexual nature, battery of a sexual nature, or sexual harassment which occurred while the Veteran was serving on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training.” Sexual harassment is defined as “repeated, unsolicited verbal or physical contact of a sexual nature which is threatening in character.” The National Association of American of Veterans, Inc. The U.S. Army Women’s Foundation will conduct its 10th Annual Summit and Hall of Fame Reception on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Congressional Auditorium, United States Capitol Visitor Center, Washington, D.C. from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The theme is “Army Women: Lead, Network, Grow.”  The Hall of Fame Reception will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building Foyer, Washington, DC from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Admission is free for both events.  For information visit: www.awfsummit18eventbrite.com or call (703) 304-0872; email: amy@fisherevents.net.
